Hello I’m Corinne Mossati. I’m a Sydney-based Drinks Writer, cocktail gardener and author of GROW YOUR OWN COCKTAIL GARDEN. I’m also the Founder/Editor of Cocktails & Bars, The Gourmantic Garden and Gourmantic (2009-2020) websites.
I’ve written extensively about cocktails, spirits, bars, food, restaurants, travel, and interviewed several local and international industry personalities. I am named in Australian Bartender Magazine’s Top 100 Most Influential List, nominated in Icons of Whisky Australia and published in several media including Executive Style by Fairfax. Cocktails & Bars was awarded best supporting media in the Whisky Live Exhibitor Awards. For Gourmantic’s 8th birthday, I created the Gourmantic Birthday Gin 2017 in collaboration with Master Distiller, Reg Papps.
I am an experienced cocktail and spirits competitions judge and have judged numerous cocktail competitions including Bacardi Legacy and Woodford Reserve. I have also judged spirits competitions such as the Australasian Whisky Awards and the Australian International Spirits Competition.
I have always been proud to be one of a few at the time who were documenting the emerging Sydney small bar scene and its development over the years. Furthermore, I have been championing Australian spirits since the industry was in its infancy as well as advocating Australian native produce.
On The Gourmantic Garden website, I write about edible gardening and Australian native bush food under the ethos of ‘Grow It Eat It Drink It’. My cocktail garden was featured on ABC TV’s Gardening Australia with host Costa Georgiadis in a segment entitled ‘Botanical Beverages’. Randwick Council awarded me Best Edible Garden and Eco Champion Awards and The Gourmantic Garden was the first place winner in the Grow It Local Awards in the Best Veggie Patch Name category. I’m a guest contributor to Real World Gardener radio program and was featured in Breathe Magazine UK in an article featuring my garden syrups and cocktails.
My speaking engagements include ‘The Business of Bars Conference’ for Sydney Bar Week, City of Sydney Business Seminar and a live webinar on ‘How to Use Your Edible Garden Botanicals in Cocktails‘ for Grow It Local members.
